There's a variety of types of momentum in US politics recently.
1. Democratic politicians are thinking of more big issues to move on. 2. In my view, Republican national politicians still don't have an issue which is of concern to me that the Democrats don't already have my general support. 3. Teabaggers ? Hot air. Their message is haphazard and often embarrasing to its members. 4. Non-teabaggers are pleased with action with the health care.

Perhaps but Democrats do so at their peril... their only signature legislation they brag about, health care, may be the one "big issue" that costs them their office in the fall. Why? Even if Democrats can brag about this legislation, none of the benefits of it go into effect for years and all the pain is immediate. This does not bode well for House and Senate Democrats running for re-election as more and more companies (Deere, Horizon, AT&T, etc.) start announcing cost of compliance in health care in the billions. Corporate cost hikes and layoffs will be hard for Democrats to defend. Just today, Doctors Target Health Overhaul in Court: A group of nearly 5,000 American physicians is filing a lawsuit to stop health care law dead in its tracks! Guess all those white-coat props Obama brought into White House were fake!

The issue: The economy. Repeat. Despite stimulus, unemployment hasn't improved. And what is Super Obama doing about our economy? Oh crap... he's cutting our nukes on a 1980s vintage START treaty with the Ruskies! Oh that will help our unemployment right away! Yeah Republicans have a secret plan here: Let Obama continue being Obama! Nothing guarantees a GOP sweep of House and Senate like Obama being completely ineffective! Only thing better for the GOP would be if Obama would campaign for Democrats in their home state!

You should pay more attention. Tea Party movement is still in its infancy and already producing viable candidates; reference Marco Rubio in Florida who leads Gov. Christ for Senate by 20 percentage points! Also the Tea Party is making inroads into state elections and forcing GOP to vote as a block.

This health care issue alone failed to attract a single Republican vote and cost the Democrat party 30 votes against. If you call that being 'pleased' I am unsure of your idea of leadership. You do understand that once the GOP retains the majority in the House they can starve health care reform legislation by not funding it in the budget? That's if it isn't overturned before then by either state AG action on its illegal mandates or SCOTUS reversal on its Constitutional encroachments. You see, even though Democrats got this legislation passed via force, they failed to convince the nation, who are still opposed to it by a significant margin. That makes it a target for reversal at all levels. Thus a failure bound for reversal and an anvil to hang around every Democrat who is running for re-election. It's only use was to inflate Obama's ego!

Mainly unemployment has stabilized and entrepreneurship efforts by small business are underway. Yes, the economy is a top priority for many. For me, the health care reform was tied for first. For many people, it was one and the same.

That's more of a national security and safety issue. Defusing a dangerous situation, especially with nukes with aging electronics.

Today: Florida: 12.5% Michigan: 14.5%
Where do you see stability in unemployment?
